GCHS Juniors Abby Seavers, Belle Parham, Emilee Chamness, and Shelby Gargus help landscape Harmon Park.

Every student at GCHS could be seen just about anywhere in Mayfield last Friday, but for a good cause.

Each year, GCHS students participate in Community Service Day, helping to make Mayfield a better, cleaner place, rain or shine.

Community Service activities ranged from washing firetrucks to landscaping multiple parks and businesses to performing for local assisted-living residencies.

Everyone worked for a couple of hours at their respective areas of the community and were rewarded with the annual GCHS Carshow, where students can show off their cars to their fellow classmates and partake in club activities.

Senior, Austin Vieyra loves community service day because “it’s a great way to help out my community and get the required community service hours to graduate, and you get the opportunity to see some cool cars and trucks.”
