GCHS celebrates Mrs. Tina Nance’s retirement after 24 years of service in IT and as a Computer Lab Technician.
Mrs. Nance was a very loved and adored member of the school, by both teachers and students.
“Mrs. Nance has been like my work mom for the last several years,” said English teacher Mrs. Parrish. “She was always the first person I went to with exciting news, and I will miss her very dearly.”
Senior Noah Shelton also shared his sentiments: “I had her for two years of my high school career and every second spent with Mrs. Nance was filled with laughter and enjoyment. No matter what was happening at the help desk she always managed to look at the bright side, and made sure that if someone was having a bad day she could give them something to smile about.”
Mrs. Nance’s plans after retirement include “Portugal to see my daughter, travel, and spend time with my grandkids.”
When asked what she loved most about Graves, she replied, “Working with the students and the people that I got to work with. I loved helping students and encouraging people. My biggest hope is that I have made a difference and made people’s lives better and encouraged them every day.”
Mrs. Nance’s impact is far reaching, as she shared the nicest things students have done for her: “Students have written me letters, sent me flowers on Mother’s Day, a student in Afghanistan called me on mothers day, brought me treats, painted pictures for me, and made art for me. Lots of love.”
