On January 25-27, members of the GCHS band went to the University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Music to perform in their honor band.
UTM held their 45th Annual Honor Band Festival last Thursday through Saturday and welcomed over 350 students to learn music and perform.
According to Trey Wimsatt, “We had to wait in long lines to audition, which was kind of nerve wracking, but once you get past that, it’s a lot of fun and I recommend going.”
Robyn Downey confirmed that once they were ranked after auditioning, they threw themselves into six hours of learning new music in preparation for the concert.
Lorelei Williams said, “Personally, the audition process was a huge learning experience because I’d never auditioned for anything before, and I am definitely going back next year.”
