22 GCHS students donated blood at the drive last Thursday. Mrs. Mills, GCHS teacher, was accompanied by two students, Emily Lee and Mazelyn Murdock, in hosting this year’s blood drive.
“The blood drive went really well; we had a lot of first-time donors, which is something that we always want for the beginning of the year,” said Mrs. Mills.
Even though it was relatively small, 22 students donated. According to Sadie Youngblood, junior, the nurses and volunteers made sure to help with all the students needs and made sure they were comfortable.
“I don’t think it’s painful . . . and because I am a universal donor, cause I am O negative, I feel like it’s kind of like a due diligence to give blood, so it’s just kind of a great thing knowing that my blood could save lives and help people,” commented Olivia Stratton.
