On Friday, September 15th Ava Slack was crowned GCHS Homecoming Queen for the 2023 football season. Ava was escorted by Trey Madding.
“I have pushed through my high school years wanting to have this opportunity to represent my peers,” said Ava, who was nominated by the Pep Club. “I am grateful for those who helped me campaign and I am honored to hold this position.”
Ava is a member of All Girl Cheer, Pep Club, and DECA. After graduation Ava plans to attend WKU and study biology to achieve her goal of attending Med School at Ohio State.
Homecoming Court included Peyton Frick (first runner-up (HOSA )), RyanBeth Goodman (second runner-up (DECA)), Emalee Beyer (JAG), Adisyn Madding (Prom Committee), and Paige Karlovetz (FCCLA).
Last year’s Homecoming Queen, Conlee Spann, was present to crown this year’s winner.
“I am so thankful to have my friends and family by my side as I continue to do the things that I thought were impossible,” Ava added.
