The Scorch Trials Book Review

The Scorch Trials Book Review

The sequel to “The Maze Runner” by James Dashner, “the Scorch Trials” is coming to hit the big screen soon, and therefore it seems appropriate to give a review of the book in case you haven’t read it. But let’s be honest, if you haven’t read the entire Maze Runner series, you seriously need to rethink your life choices.

The Scorch Trials picks up directly where The Maze Runner left off. Don’t worry, I’ll keep this spoiler free. Like The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials starts off a little slow. You can’t read a few pages and decide that you don’t like it. Like all great stories, it has a build. Also like its predecessor, this book gives you more questions than it does answers. Plot twists around every page, heart-pounding suspension, and mysteries within one huge mystery are all a fraction of what this book has to offer. If you’re like me, and you “connect” with the characters in the story, relate to them and genuinely care about their fate, you will not only love this book more than the average reader would, but also the entire series. All in all, there isn’t much to say about this book, other than the fact that it is simply amazing and sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. The Scorch Trials is a must read for any avid reader. The only downfall of this book is that it takes effort to get into, but in the end, it is well worth it. I give it a 4 out of 5.
