In the same week that casting for Cinderella was released, musical theater began to rehearse with this first-time double casting. The students have been working together with read-throughs of both casts.
Double casting, for those who aren’t familiar, is when there are two different sets of casts; there are two Cinderellas, two stepmothers, two fairy godmothers, and so on, providing the audience with a variety of performers each show.
“We had a lot bigger of a class than we have had in the past and the reason I chose to do a double cast is because we had two full sets of characters that could play the part,” says Mrs. Pritchett.
Zuzu Pulley, a Sophomore, got the roles of both Fairy Godmother and Stepsister. She is very excited to see how the musical turns out in the spring.
“We have a lot to do in very little time,” says Mrs. Pritchett, “but I’m really confident we have the right cast for the show and I think everybody is really putting in the effort for it.”
