Clint McKee, running back for the Graves County High School football team, signed with Murray State on February 23 to play Racer Football starting this summer.

“I signed to MSU because I thought staying home would give my family and friends the opportunity to come to most of my games because it means a lot to me when they support me,” said McKee.

McKee expressed that he is most excited about putting his skills to the test at a higher level of competition: “I am ready to prove myself.”

It has taken a lot of work to get to this point and when asked about that, McKee said “Lots of people have helped me get me where I am but my dad has always been there to push me to train at a higher level.”

He added that he and his dad spent many hot summer days at Mike Miller Park running up the hill, trying to be prepared for the fall season.

In his interview, McKee gave a lot of credit to his high school experience as well as his teammates.

“My high school career has prepared me for college by teaching me accountability. Many times in my career, I fought minor injuries but I learned to push through the pain because I knew that a community counted on me to play. My teammates held me accountable by making sure I was tough-minded and physically tough through it all.”
