Drama Classes to perform yearly plays

Drama+Classes+to+perform+yearly+plays

Every year, the Drama classes at our school put together a play in each class that reflects everything the students have learned about theater. On April 13th in the PAC, the class will be hosting a comedy play called “21 Ways to get Detention”. The play is about, well, 21 ways a student can get detention.

For the past few months, the classes have been hard at work memorizing lines and rehearsing inside and outside of school. During the day, Mrs. Carver has students rehearsing at the front of the commons, while students pass by laughing at all of the demonstrations of students getting themselves in trouble.

“The hardest part is probably working up the nerve to go on stage in front of a bunch of people,” says junior Matthew Rice, “but my favorite part is that I can relate to this play and my character has lines that I would say in real life.”

You won’t want to miss out on this play. Come out and support our Fine Arts and Drama department on April 13th at 5 pm to find out all of the 21 mischievous ways that students have found themselves in detention. (Or find out what not to do to stay out of detention!)
