Youth Leadership students at Progress Rail

On December 9, the selected leaders from Graves County and Mayfield high school had an incredible opportunity to go to various businesses within the city limits. Students visited Fly Guys Menswear, D & D Shoe Company LLC, Progress Rail Services, and West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation.

Inspiring entrepreneur and GCHS junior Cayden Goodman greatly appreciated the opportunity: “I want to own my business one day so this helped me see the organization that goes into it.”

Local business owners shared the challenges they have faced to grow as a company. They agreed that while there are many obstacles, the benefits of serving the community members make it all worth it.

Along with becoming acquainted with local businesses and their founders, students were able to learn about job opportunities in their hometowns.
