Graves County tennis team visited Calloway County High School on Monday, March 29th.

The Eagles won 6-3 matches and the Lady Eagles won 8-1.

Currently, Graves County Eagles are 6-1 and Ladies are 5-2 for this season.

Senior Laken Shultz and juniors Mark Whitaker, Clay Cooper, Audrey Lamb won their single matches, while Josie Erdman who won both her singles and double matches.

“I felt accomplished and proud of myself when I aced [my opponent] 4 times in a row,” Audrey claimed about the match.

The team has started off a little rocky because of the weather and Covid-19, but their coaches couldn’t be more proud of how their team is doing.

“I am pleased with our progress considering our practice time was cut (due to Covid-19) and the weather  (ice, snow, rain),” said Coach Whitnell. “We are not where we need to be, but the team is working hard to get there.”

The next matches are scheduled against Paducah at home Tuesday, April 13th @ 4 pm.
