DECA National Convention 2019
8 outstanding members of GCHS DECA were eligible to attend the national convention in Orlando, Florida last week from April 27th to May 1st. Only 230 students from the entire state of Kentucky attended.
This year gained the title for the largest recorded delegation for a DECA National Convention. 21,000 students from around the world were hosted at the Orange County Convention Center to participate in tests, presentations, and general sessions throughout the trip.
Senior, Madison Myers shares, “DECA has made me a better person all around. I’ve learned how to be a leader, and to be more confident with myself and my abilities.” She has been an active member since freshman year.
There was time allotted in order for the competitors to be able to explore Orlando, their accomplishments mustn’t go unappreciated. Universal Studios was generous enough to close the entire park, making it only available to DECA members and competitors to keep lines shorter and kids safer.
