Each year, Murray State University News offers a paid summer internship program for juniors and seniors in high school.

GCHS Senior Nick Kendall was accepted for the internship. Not only will he be reporting and writing for the Murray State News this summer, but he will also be joining the staff in the fall as a student at MSU.

After receiving his acceptance, Kendall said he “felt kind of excited because I grew up reading the Murray State newspaper. It’s good because I can go to school and have a career at the same time.”

Kendall  has been a member of the school news staff since 2017, and is currently the head editor of the online student news site, the GCHS Eagle’s Eye.
