Academic District Match ends with 2 GC wins
Monday, February 4, 2019, the Graves County Academic team won the District Championship.
As a whole Graves County academic team placed first in future problem solvers and placed second in the quick recall.
Naima Bhutta, sophomore, said ” We did pretty good, and we just prepare a lot by just researching on the area and find out as much as possible that we can do, and study all the information.”
“I had language arts and I had to do a lot of research on authors, books, summary’s, and grammar,” she continued, “We are looking for ward to going to regionals which is to compete with schools in Paducah and schools around us, just getting a chance to participate in the program and get to show off your knowledge.¨
The day consists of different sections such as future problem solvers, quick recall, language arts, fine art students, math competitors, science competitors, and composition. The points gained from each section all add up at the end to see which team wins overall. It also is like a ¨Jeopardy¨ game where students compete to answer to have a response to a question before the time runs competing against school within the district.
Let’s all wish them luck on the regionals match next week.
