The Nun Review

The Nun Review

Recently, I was informed of the new thriller that just came to theaters, The Nun (a follow up to our favorite horror series, The Conjuring.) Me being who I am, I was thrilled to see the new monstrous face that would be taunting children this Halloween, so of course,  I began researching showtimes immediately and picked a day to go.

In this thriller, a demonic entity in the form of a nun is unleashed (again) and tries to posses a fellow nun named Victoria and her friend. When Victoria is later found by Fenchie, hanging from a window, he begins his quest to stop the dangerous entity.

I have to say, the nun’s face was definitely horrifying (although, after seeing it so much you began to get used to it) and the actors contributed to their parts very well.

However, despite this, The Nun, did not exceed expectations; good horror films are always hard to create nowadays but overall I was not satisfied with this movie. It consisted of the typical jump scares and scary noises like any other horror film would have, but when it came to the overall plot I had no idea where to start. The focus of his purpose was clear, to stop the entity, but was quickly dismissed in the mist of trying to keep up with the story itself. They gave hardly any background information toward the characters which made it harder to connect and eventually it was hard to keep up in general, but I was most disappointed to have not found any clues that linked this to The Conjuring until the end.
