In the Summer of 2018 Netflix introduced two romance movies that instantly hit the top of the charts in no time. Both The Kissing Booth and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”are based off of top-selling novels. These movies revolve around a high-school aged girl that is destined to fall in love with the guy of her dreams, but falling in love with their crush came with serious consequences.

Within The Kissing Booth the main character, Elle Evans is hopelessly falling in love with her bestfriends older brother, but that was totally off limits according to the made up rules they had set. This left her with the hardest decision of her life, chosing between her bestfriend or her secret admire.

However, within To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before the main character, Lara Jean Covey writes secret letters throughout her life to the multiple boys she has fallen in love with. However, these letters were strictly meant to stay hidden but eventually they get exposed and land into the hands of all her lovers.

After, rereading numerous reviews about how each movie was the best, we decided to take a poll from the student body on which movie they ranked the best.

Taking the lead with 33 votes To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was determined the best out of the two.

But, not far behind coming in 2nd place was The Kissing Booth with 27 votes.

Senior, Lexie Driver tells “I really enjoyed To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before because the couples seemed to hit it off more easy than the couple in the other movie. I would recommend it because its not just a love story, but it keeps you on edge wondering who Lara is going to end up with.”

Senior, Brianna Stairs tells The Kissing booth really  got my attention because it was more realistic, and reminded me more of true love stories instead of something made up.”
