Graves County hosted Murray High for their first football game of the season on Friday night.

Senior Ryan Mathis ran a 5 yard touchdown that put GC up 7-0 after the first quarter.

Ryan Mathis has been nominated as a choice for WPSD Local 6’s performance of the week for this game. Mathis has played for our varsity team for all four years of his high school career.

“There’s just something special about Friday nights,” says Mathis, “GCHS is a family.”

At halftime, Graves led Murray 21-7. Our Screamin’ Eagle Band performed two songs accompanied by the Color Guard to create a phenomenal first halftime show of the season.

At the end of the 3rd quarter, Graves led Murray 27-13.

The win extended GC’s win streak over Murray to 6 games.
