Changes that WILL affect you this ’15-’16 School Year
We all know that there have been some changes this year in the handbook, but which ones will make the biggest impact on you this year?
1. Cell Phone Policy: Yes, it is happening. The 7 day rule has been abolished. But there are still consequences when you have your phone out when you are not supposed to. It is confiscated and turned into the office for your parent to pick up at the end of the day. Also teachers are no longer allowed to let students listen to music during class.
2. Off Limit Areas: A few things have changed in this area. First, the only bathrooms you can use during lunches are now on B hall. You can no longer use the bathrooms by the fine arts hall. Second, the only entrance/exit during the school day is the front door. You are no longer allowed to go in the side or back parking lot doors after 8 or before 3:05.
3. No deliveries: Parents are no longer allowed to deliver food to the school, and the front office will no longer accept deliveries from florists.
4. Discipline Matrix: The consequences for breaking a rule are now clearly laid out for all students. A copy of this matrix was given to you in handout form and is in your handbook. It makes punishment more consistent through out the school.
Check your handbook for more information on these topics and other smaller changes, and have a great school year!
