Boys basketball gives back to community
On Saturday, October 18th, the Graves County Boys Basketball team completed a community service project in the local community.
The team spent most of the morning picking up trash, cutting the grass, and trimming limbs at a home in Pryorsburg. Head Coach Josh Frick stated “We are very appreciative of the support we receive from the community and we wanted to take an opportunity to give back and help in any capacity. A need was brought to my attention and our players, parents, and coaches were eager to jump in and help.”
The project also served as an opportunity for players and coaches to work together in a different capacity than what they are accustomed to. “We were able to come together as a team and do something for someone that needed help”, said Junior Christian Gough. “I thought what we did was a really good thing and you can tell that it meant a lot to the family. I learned that no matter the situation, you can always put forth the time and effort to help someone,” said Senior Andrew Smith. The Eagles kick off their season December 4th against Massac County, IL at the Marshall County HoopFest. Start time for the game is 7:45 pm.
