The “Tightest” Trend in Fashion

leg·gings
ˈlegiNGz/
noun
  1. tight-fitting stretch pants worn by women and children.
Schools everywhere are faced with the highly debated decision of the dress code, what should be in and what should be out of the code for each school year. As leggings took teen fashion by storm last year, schools are faced with yet another school dress code decision that could be debatable either way.
Here at Graves County High school, the dress code states, under the column of under body apparel, “Shorts and skirts may be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee, even when wore with leggings.”
When students met at homerooms the first days of school were told to disregard this rule, because leggings are now allowed under skirts. Leggings are now also allowed under jeans with holes above the knee so no flesh is shown.
GCHS has worked around the original rules of leggings, because of the growing popularity of the clothing. But still if you decide to break the dress code, with leggings or not, the punishments are the same. 1st offense is a warning, 2nd offense is a in school disciplinary measure and 3rd is discipline including a after-school detention, Saturday school, in-school detention, and suspension.
So make sure to follow this years dress code! If you have any questions about this years changes in the code, make sure to ask your homeroom teacher or principal.
