Five marching bands traveled to Graves County to participate in a competition hosted by GCHS.

Though the Graves County Screaming Eagle Band did not compete, they closed the event with their performance of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana.

Emilee Vieitez said that hosting the band competition “made me feel like Graves band is actually known and people actually enjoy us.”

Hosting the competition not only gave students well-deserved recognition, but it also gave them responsibility to make sure that the day ran smoothly.

GCHS band members were responsible for all parts of the day, including cleaning up after the event and running the concession stand.

The band students had a great time performing and are looking forward to the event next year.
