Chromebooks in the Classroom

For the 2018-2019 school year, Graves County High School  has decided to switch to Chromebooks to enhance student learning.

Now that the school has switched to Chromebooks, students are only able to access certain sites that the school has not blocked. This is making sure students are strictly using technology for learning purposes.

With this being said, students are forbidden to access their phone during class time. That is because now everyone has access to the internet without getting distracted by social media, text, etc.

Senior, Sidney Patterson explains, “It’s for sure been hard to adjust to Chromebooks considering we’ve been using textbooks the past few years. Its been nothing but helpful though and hopefully it stays like this for the rest of the time using them.”

Freshman, Trace Williams tells, “With the middle school receiving their Chromebooks last year, its made high school easier for me when teachers tell me to get on Schoology or something like that. I also enjoy the fact that I already had an understanding of how to use them versus the upperclassmen switching to them this year and not really knowing all the shortcuts to them.”
