Racers stomp Morehead State 71-52

The Murray State Racers continue their winning streak to 8 after blowing out the Morehead State Eagles Thursday night.

The Racer’s played lockdown defense in the first half, holding the Eagles to only 4 field goals, and only one within a span of eight minutes. The Racers ended on a 30-6 run to close the half, up 40-14.

Nine Racers scored last night, Tevin Brown and Darnell Cowart scored 11 points each and KJ Williams scored 10 points. Freshman, Jaiveon Eaves played for 22 minutes with nine points. Even with flu-like symptoms, Ja Morant recorded his third career triple-double when he ended the night with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

The Racers are now 15-2 in OVC play, and they are still tied for first place with the Belmont Bruins, who beat the UT-Martin Skyhawks 112-67 last night.

Murray State comes home on final time on Saturday at 7 pm for the Battle of the Border rematch against Austin Peay.
