GCHS hosts annual “We Read Week”
GCHS will be having “We Read Week” starting Monday, October 20 and ending on Friday, October 24 in the hopes of proving to the student body that reading can be educational as well as fun.
On Monday and Tuesday, GCHS students will have the opportunity to make a trip to the library during their English class where they will be able to choose a book, ranging from history to fiction, that they will be able to take for free. During every class period on this week, students will be given ten minutes where they can either read the book they had received at the schools library or another book of their choosing but must read.
Every student should have an hour of reading for each day, totaling in at five hours for the entire week. This is a time for students to see the importance of reading and will give them a great opportunity to put their electronic devices down and pick a book up.
