The month of February is coming to an end. The past few weeks have been very eventful and many new exciting things are taking place. First off, the district tournament for both Graves County girls and boys basketball team is taking place Thursday and Friday night at Ballard Memorial. Next, Graves County Co-ed brings home the national title. Lastly, guest speaker Ken Freeman spoke at an assembly on February 29th. He spoke on choices and how our choices can change our lives.
Continuing on with the sports highlights, the teachers vs. students game is taking place on Friday, March 1st during the students’ 4th block. Students will pay $1 for a ticket: The profits will go and be used toward prom in the month of April. Students at Graves County High School are getting excited as we get closer to the final game.
“Even though my team, the pandas, lost the second round of the teachers vs. students tournament, I still had so much fun being able to participate. I also felt really inspired by Ken Freeman’s “Choices 101″ talk to make good choices.” Freshman Lillie Easley.
The teachers came out with a win against the Dalton Bells. GCHS always finds a way to keep the students entertained and having fun.
“After this eventful week I think that the school definitely is a family. I loved hearing Ken Freeman and I really enjoyed getting to watch the student vs teacher game in soar. I looked forward to watching the games everyday, and I am now looking forward to watching the Eagles play in the regional tournament.”
