Here in Graves County High School, you will see that there are many varieties of fashion. Walking through the halls you will see girls wearing flare leggings, biker shorts, cargo pants, sweatpants, skirts, or jeans with over sized t-shirts and sweatshirts. Some girls may even wear cropped top shirts with a variety of pants. Boys mostly wear shorts and sweatshirts, sweatpants, and slides.
“I think that the overall fashion trends for boys right now are short shorts, but not too short. We also wear a lot of Nike clothes like sweatshirts and colorful t-shirts,” said Freshman Wilson Thomas.
At Graves County High School, the style is very fluid and there is not really a set style. The fashion here can be well mixed.
Junior Amelia Williams says, “Kind of depends on my mood, sometimes I am tired and I feel like wearing comfy, casual clothes. Sometimes when I am more energetic and ready for the day, I like to dress up.”
This attitude towards outfits works really well with the GCHS dress code. There are no limits to the amount of sweaters and sweatpants. The dress code is definitely evenly enforced throughout the school.
“Here at Graves County High School we see outfits from pajamas to leggings to shorts. That’s about the extent, we sometimes see a dress or skirt. Very very casual,” says Mrs. Janet Throgmorton.
As the temperature gets colder, we start to see more hoodies, sweatshirts, leggings, over sized shirts, and sweatpants, in the girls.
For the boys you start to see a lot of sweatpants, hoodies, and some jeans, but there are a lot of guys who also still wear shorts and t-shirts.
