Saturday, January 21st Graves County High School’s co-ed cheer team went to the Nifinity America’s cup and won 2nd place.

“We were happy with 2nd place being only tenths behind Blackman High School who won our division.  It was the first time this year that we were able to beat McCracken who is always a very strong team,” said Math Teacher Jon Summerville.

Blackman high school is tied with Graves County with 8 national championships and McCracken has 4-5 national championships each in different divisions. Each team is pretty evenly matched, but Graves County High School’s coed team pulled through even though this is a younger team.

“I’m happy we got second,” Junior Mystic Mangrum said,” especially, against some really tough teams.”

The goal for Summerville and his team is to improve with each practice and match this season and hope that this will be their ninth time to bring home a national win from their diovidion.
