Do Apps Help You or Just Waste Your Time?

Apps or applications to some are just that, an application, pointless. To others they mean hours of fun. For example, take my 4 year old little brother. My Mom’s work iPad has been taken over by Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja. These “fun” apps, of course, weren’t downloaded by my Mom, a school teacher. They were downloaded by the 4 year old who sits in the corner of the room hoarding over this iPad, and acts like an animal if you try to take it away. Now I know there are some educational and helpful apps, but I’d say over 90% are pointless. The only good thing about these apps are if you want to keep someone quiet for a few hours, with the booming sounds of the birds flying into the green pigs. I’m sure you’ve seen or heard the pediatricians tell Mom’s how many hours of TV a kid should or shouldn’t watch, but now it’s more of how much time is too much for an iPad or iPhone game. But then again, think about the apps that could help you, Maps, Huffington Post, etc. Sadly when apps come to mind its always the Instagram, the Facebook, or the Angry Birds. This is why, even though there are those 10% of useful apps, middle aged or a toddler, they are to or attempt to waste your time.
