Jon Hayden is stepping into the role of Sheriff of Graves County after retiring from the Sheriff position over McCracken County. Hayden was a close friend to the late Sheriff Dwayne Redmond, and claims he is not trying to replace Redmon, but will strive to be as dedicated to the community as Redmon was. In a Facebook post to the Graves County community, Hayden states he is a “straight shooter” and will never mislead the Graves County community and promises to always do what is in the communities best interest. 

He writes, “Job #1 for me is to speak with the employees, other community leaders and to citizens. We need to understand their concerns, and then implement changes that are needed to bring the Graves County Sheriff’s Office to a level of professionalism that you would be proud to call your own.” 

Hayden was sworn in to office on February 27th, and seems to be bringing a fresh set of values and very promising ideas.
