ON THE ROAD– Eagles meet the Tigers for the third time, coming out on top for the first time in school history.

On September 6, 2013 Graves County eagles traveled to Murray High School’s Ty Holland Stadium to face the Tigers for the third time in school history. Graves County has lost to Murray high for the past two years, each by only a few points.

Even though the Eagle were off to a rough start, they managed to pull a win of 31-28 over Murray High.

The Tigers took the lead early in the game with a two-yard touch down run after intercepting a Graves pass, but the Eagles answered with a 12-yard run by Peyton Puckett to tie the game at 7-7.

Graves led entering the 4th quarter, but Murray tied the game at 21 on the opening play. A successful punt and additional touchdown gave the Eagles a comfortable lead of 31-21. The Tigers pulled out another TD with 2:13 left to play, but were unable to break the Eagles’ stronghold on the ball.

Graves County plays Paducah Tilghman at home next Friday, with Tilghman coming off a loss to Mayfield Friday night.
