Saturday, September 22nd the annual Telethon of Stars will be hosting their 62nd event at the Carson Center located in downtown Paducah.

This event is an all night fundraiser that allows people of the community to come and perform live on WPSD-TV.   However, this year  the telethon will not only be on live stream, but also will air on WPSD-TV on November 17th-18th. This gives more people the opportunity to watch it and support those who participate in it.

Various bands as well as singing acts can preform that night. The winning act receives a cash price and an interview with WPSD. The interview done with the lucky winner will also air that night for the public to see.

The money from the concert goes towards helping local adults and kids with special needs. For anybody interested in attending, ticket sales are on sale starting September 18th. Also if you’re interested in performing you need to contact someone from the Carson Center, or go to the WPSD station to pick up an application. To perform in the Telethon of Stars, you at least have to be 10 years old or older.

Senior, Hannah Page tells, “A few years ago my church went to the telethon to support the participants. While we were there the producers interviewed my church as a whole, asking questions because we stayed the entire night. It was an overall great time, and I would definitely recommend going.”
