Friday, September 14th the annual “Battle of the Birds” will be taking place, it’s Graves County’s turn to host, so our home game stadium-kick off will be at 6 pm.

Battle of the Birds is the biggest football game of the year, where our Graves County Eagles play crosstown rival Mayfield Cardinals to determine who is the best bird.

The Eagle’s haven’t soared above the Cardinals since 2008, but according to junior player Nelson Browning, this may be their year.

“We’ve been preparing more than ever for this,” Browning commented, “and by the looks of all the players on this year’s team, I believe we actually have a good shot at defeating Mayfield.”

Coach Lance Gregory said, “This year Graves has been doubling up on practices specially preparing them for the biggest game of the year.”
