Within the last year, McDonald’s debuted their new restaurant and Popeye’s had their grand opening, creating insane customer rushes within each.

Popeye’s employee, Carla Carmona stated that working at a new fast food restaurant was, “hectic, but fun because you get to try new things and experience different customers and their personalities.” She believes the rush will die down after a week or two.

Popeye’s employee Christian Lashbrook stated, ¨We get slammed mainly on Sundays and game nights.¨

McDonalds had closed for renovations, and then reopened their doors in October 2017. Employees Kayla Stinson and Brandon Trevathan stated that the reopening was a bit of a mad house, and that “it is still crazy busy here.”

Neither McDonald’s employees  view the Popeye’s opening as a threat to their business because “McDonald’s is a lot cheaper, and not everyone likes Popeyes. Everyone has time to grab something fast at McDonald’s.”
