It’s every basketball lovers’ favorite holiday, March Madness. The NCAA tournament began on March 15th, and since then fans hearts and brackets have been crushed.

There were the expected wins but more than that, there were the unexpected losses. This year has been the most unpredictable year in NCAA tournament history. In the first round alone there were five upsets, one of which a #1. Virginia, fell to a #16. UMBC marking the first time in tournament history a 16 seed has knocked out a 1 seed. When asked about his bracket, sophomore Evan Williams says, “This year is just completed trash. My bracket is finished.” He isn’t the only one who shares this reaction to the tournament.

Moving on to round two, ranked at #11. Loyola Chicago defeated #3. Tennessee in the upset that shocked 78% of bracketoligists who had Tennessee in the final four. Following that game, another number one seed was knocked off. #9. Florida State beat #1. Xavier in a knockdown drag out game.

The next round of games start on Thursday, March 22. And no one knows what to expect. All you can do at this point is pray for your favorite team if their still in it, or if their not, eat a lot of comforting food while watching the rest of the teams battle it out for the title.
