“We Were Liars” is a young adult novel by E. Lockhart realased in May of 2015. It is powerful and such a well crafted novel.

“We Were Liars” follows around a girl named Candance Sinclair. The Sinclair family is elegant, beautiful, wealthy, and seemingly perfect. Every summer the Sanclairs go to their private island.

Candance and the other Liars are different however. There are four Liars in total. All related except for Gat. Gat is different.

There are so many plot twists and cliff hangers. It leaves you on the edge of your seat, and you don’t know the whole truth until the end. It’s romance mixed with mystery mixed with upper-class lies and secrets.

This book gets many mixed reviews for the writing style, but that is one of the many things I love about “We Were Liars”. The writing style is very different from all the other young adult novels in this day and age.

All in all, “We Were Liars” is tragically beautiful and is worth your time.
