Super Mario Oddysey, Nintendo’s latest 4 year old brain child in the works, has finally been released to the Nintendo Switch today. The game has gotten 10/10’s from almost every major gaming review websites, earning praise calling it one of the most innovative games of this year, and has already made its way to IGN’s top 100 games of the year list, claiming it’s “An excellent example of how to fuse old and new without coming off as tacky”. This is a bold and very important claim, as one of IGN’s biggest complaints about most new games is that they are too dependent on their prequels, and not innovative enough. Evidently, Nintendo has managed to balance its mix of nostalgia and new experiences perfectly, earning it the multiple five star claims. Hopefully the game lives up to these reviews, and shows to be worth the release price of 60 dollars.
