End of an Era: The Death of Vine
Vine is a popular social media platform owned by Twitter. It features user-created videos that only last 6 seconds and continuously loop. The service launched on January 24, 2013, but was created in June 2012 (bought by Twitter in October 2012).
Lately, Twitter has been suffering financially and has had to lay off many employees and services, Vine taking the biggest blow.
Upon hearing this, popular Vine users such as Sarah Schauer and Anthony Amorim told their followers to follow them on other social media platforms. No one really knows what will happen to these users, as Vine is their job.
All in all, no one truly knows the future of Vine, whether it’ll be bought by another company, or have the same fate as MySpace. What we can infer is that Vine will be missed by most.
