AHS: Freak Show Premiere
Where can you find clown murderers, two-headed women, and Evan Peters? American Horror Story fans get ready for another season. Season 4 premiered Wednesday, October 9th and was set in Jupiter, Florida in 1952. The series casted the familiar cast of Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Denis O’Hare, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Naomi Grossman, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe and Grace Gummer.
This season, called “Freak Show”, tells the story of one of the few freak shows left at the time, and the struggles the members face to keep the place running. The series also focuses on the brutality of others towards the “freaks”.
Episode 1, “Monsters Among Us”, started by having conjoined twins taken to the hospital and them being recruited by the freak show ring leader, Elsa. You then are introduced to all the “freaks” and what their home is like at the show. Some oddities of the “freaks” include bearded women, 2 fingered men, and a man with very small arms and hands. At the end of the episode, we find that Elsa is an amputee, legless beyond the knees.
