These first few months at Graves County have been very eventful and will continue to be full of events. This week, some events that took place was the Prom Fashion Show, DECA region 1 competition, and the Children’s Advocacy Week that our youth council attended.
Some events coming up in the next few weeks and into the month of February are Cheer leading Nationals that our co-ed Cheerleaders are attending, DECA State championships, and basketball homecoming court.
“Being involved in these clubs and teams has really affected my life in a positive way. It has helped me become and leader, get out of my personal bubble, express my passion, and help to benefit the school.” Senior Peyton Frick.
Being involved in things in GCHS high school really helps us students to learn and grow in a lot of things like learning to work together, getting out of your comfort zone, making new friends, etc.
Freshman, Chloe Wade “Last week I went to my very first DECA competition and it was so fun. I got out of my shell and talked to people I would never have talked to if it weren’t for DECA.”
These clubs and activities are great for helping GCHS students get out and meet new people from new schools. This gives everyone a chance to make new friends and develop new ideas and new friendships.
“Being able to attend the Children’s Advocacy Week was such an amazing opportunity. I felt a greater sense of hop for Kentucky and its future because I saw so many youth and adults gathered together for one goal- children, the future of Kentucky.” Sophomore Amelia Williams.
There is always something for everyone here in GCHS. These clubs and extracurricular activities are very fun and they help more students to express their ideas to others around the state. All of the upcoming events never go unnoticed and the school is always there to encourage us to do our very best in all we do.
