Senior Emma Hancock, GCHS Track high jumper, tied the school record of 5’3″ at the cross-town track meet on Tuesday, April 12.

“It is one of the greatest accomplishments of my track career,” said Hancock. “I am looking forward to our future meets, so I can not only tie the school record, but beat it.”

Hancock has been a member of the GCHS track team since she was in the seventh grade where she competed in the long jump and triple jump events, however, she found her niche when she started competing in high jump her eighth-grade year.

“High jump has created a world of opportunities for me since I started,” said Hancock. “I am excited to keep improving this season, and to compete at the regional and state level.”
