Archery just about underway
Practicing since early October, the Graves County Archery team is getting ready for their first tournament on Saturday December 2.
For the last 5+ years, the archery team has made it to the KHSAA Archery Tournament and they plan to do the same thing this year.
There are 25+ members on team and only 4 of them are seniors including Natalee Kendall, Matthew Newton, Brady Hicks, and Chris Logan. None of them were available for a comment, I did, however, talk to first year archer, junior, Bradley Jameson who says he plans “to shoot 50s(the highest score possible per round) and possibly even score a 300(highest possible overall score).
I also talked to 2nd year Head Coach Kerry Smith about his expectations for the new season, he plans for the team to “Finish this year with better scores than last year and make it to Nationals for the first time as a team.” I’ve been informed that the only archery team in Graves County to make it to Nationals was Farmington Elementary School and the only high school individual to make it there was last year Senior Dustin Jameson.
