TEXAS, TX — A mobile manicurist in Texas set out to grow her business by parking near a cluster of shops and salons, and the move quickly drew attention. The manicurist, known as Dae and active online as @thedaewest, runs a mobile manicure bus and travels to clients. Looking for a visible place to work, she said she first spoke with police and then asked businesses in the shopping area whether she could park nearby.

According to her account, she chose a spot out of the way near the back of the property, close to dumpsters, so she would not block anyone. She said she believed she had permission to be there and expected the arrangement to be straightforward.

Instead, a salon owner named Rhonda told her she did not have the right to park there and warned that the vehicle could be towed. Dae said the owner also argued that she had not gotten approval from the management company.

A tense exchange turns into a wider conversation

Dae later went into the salon to talk face-to-face, and she recorded part of the conversation. In the back-and-forth, Rhonda said she would call police and told Dae she should leave, while Dae insisted she had already been given permission elsewhere. Another worker then told her to get out of the salon.

Afterward, Dae posted an update video showing her talking with other business owners in the area. In those clips, she said the neighboring owners told her they were fine with her parking there and appreciated her explaining the situation directly.
