GC freshman Jordan Coles won Miss Kentucky High School America this past weekend in Bardstown, KY.

The Miss High School America Scholarship Pageant Organization was designed to offer young women more professional opportunities, and the organization has awarded more than $400,000 in scholarship money in the past ten years.

“I was inspired to compete for this pageant by one of my best friends who won the California title last year,” said Coles. “The Day was a whirlwind, but it felt like time stopped in it’s tracks.”

“It felt like my life was in slow motion,” she continued.

Although she started competing when she was little, Miss Kentucky High School America was Jordan’s first ever Scholarship Pageant.

“This pageant has a prize package that includes college scholarships, which I plan on using to further my education in the future,” Coles said.
