Student’s in Ms. Christi Moore’s photography classes created a set to prepare for holiday photo sessions this week.

The set features rustic barn doors, a Christmas tree, and additional props such as a hay bale, poinsettia, and snow.

“I wanted students to be able to produce something to be proud of and to know that they can take their own pictures,” said Ms. Moore,  “and create something nice for their families for Christmas.”

For Junior Payton Sikes, this has been her favorite part of photography so far because of the challenges it presented.

Sikes says throughout this project she has learned that “lighting is key. And the poses don’t have to be perfect, but try to act natural.”

Sikes’s photo, as featured in this story, is of professional quality. Sikes said she chose this photo because “I feel like I look most like myself. It’s a real smile.”

Many students plan on using these photos in Christmas cards, and even taking their talents home to take photos of others.
