The Lady Eagle soccer team travelled to Rocky Top Sports World in Gatlinburg, Tennessee this past weekend and brought home the champion title by defeating teams from Lexington, Nashville, and Chattanooga.

“I am very proud of the way the girls performed,” said Coach Gerardo Herrera. “Winning this past weekend has proved that this is our year!”

“The big cities underestimated us,” said Senior Captain Hannah Beth Elliott. “We went into the tournament with a confident mindset which led us to our wins.”

The Lady Eagles not only came home victorious, but took advantage of the trip away from home to bond with their teammates. 

“Saturday night the team went to an escape room,” said Senior Captain Reese Gream. “It took a lot of communication and brain power, but we were able to work together and broke out within forty-five minutes.”

Overall, the Lady Eagles had a very successful weekend on and off the field.
