Art students compete in KyAEA Regionals
Students all across the nation submitted artwork from their choice of media. Three GCHS students submitted their pieces to the KyAEA Regional Art Competition. These students included Maddie Brown, Kasi Natividad, and Louis Driver.

The KyAEA is an art competition hosted by the Kentucky Art Education Association. According to GCHS Art Teacher Anthony Woodruff, it works similar to varsity sports competitions.
“Artists from GCHS entered their pieces into a regional show competing against other schools in the area. If they win in their category then their piece will move on and compete against students from the entire state,” explained Mr. Woodruff.
Louis Driver submitted several pieces of his artwork. “I generally chose certain pieces I was overall proud of the outcome and the aesthetics of the piece.” Driver entered multiple art mediums including pyrography, watercolor, wire sculpture, and crochet.

The students are competing for a cash prize. The show will open digitally on April 1st and All-State judging will be held May 5-8. The Viral State Awards Ceremony will be held May 15 via Zoom.
