Graves County Varsity Boys Basketball won their 27th District title last night against the Mayfield Cardinals with a final score of 69-68.

Drew Thompson, Mason Grant, and John Ben Brown made the All Tournament Team.

Drew Thompson was Grave’s lead scorer with 34 points. Mason Grant followed with 10 points, and Lukas Pigg and John Ben Brown with 8 points each.

Graves was down by 1 with mere seconds on the clock. However, Brown was able to make a last minute the last minute shot resulting in the win.

“It felt amazing to contribute but I don’t want to take all the credit. If it wasn’t for Caleb [Oliver] passing me the ball, I never would’ve hit that shot,” said Brown.

With the Regional Tournament looming in the near future, the team may hope to not be caught in the same predicament they found themselves earlier this week: “We are going to keep up the intensity in practice and work as hard as possible to push forward,” said Brown.

Graves County will play Marshall County next Tuesday at 8pm in the 1st Region Tournament at the CFSB arena in Murray.
