On February 26, 2021 the Graves County JROTC Raiders team traveled to Georgia to compete in nationals, winning first place.

Raiders is part of the JROTC program that compete in different physical events and competitions. The students build leadership and teamwork skills that they can use later in life.

The GC team won first place after competing against other teams across the nation. This competition included running 5K up a mountain, a rope bridge, and a physical training test.

The JROTC sponsors are Colonel Caldwell and Sergeant Kernodle, who have worked diligently with this years team and trained them to work together and help each other. Graves County even has their own obstacle course on campus that serves as training and practice.

One JROTC member expressed, ” You benefit from Raiders by making friends and learning teamwork. You stay is shape and you gain muscle.”
