It’s finally Christmas time! It’s time for Christmas movies, chocolate chip cookies, candy canes, and hot chocolate. Even though Christmas isn’t going to be the same this year, we won’t get to see as many people and spend as much time with the ones we love. Here are 10 things you can do at home this Christmas:
Bake lots of cookies! Whether it’s a secret family recipe or one you got out of a cookbook spending time with siblings or parents is a fun way to feel in the holiday spirit.
Decorate for Christmas. Dedicate a day to put up all the lights and stockings around the house.
See Christmas lights. Noble Park, Mayfield fairgrounds, and Discovery park all have Christmas lights up and the first two are free.
Put the fuzzy socks on and watch Christmas movies.
Get the pen and paper and send handwritten or signed Christmas cards to the ones you love this holiday season.
Shop safely for the ones you love online.
For the little ones sit down and make snowflakes by folding paper and cutting shapes. Use a string to hand the up or put them on the tree
If you are able to find a place that you can do Santas angels and donate to families in need.
Find a place near you that will take in gently used or new coats. Local 6 has coats for kids that you participate in by dropping off your coat in one of the boxes found in select stores. More Information can be found on their website under the community tab.
Even though there is no snow outside, when it does you can go outside and build snowmen and make snow angels.
Hopefully, everything will go back to normal soon but in the meantime, we can all do our part and stay home and stay safe this holiday season.
