Alright, so the whole student body might be stuck at home doing (very important) NTI work, and the whole world might be in a global pandemic, but at least we still have Netflix.

Although there might be many things on the to-do list for home activities and projects, sometimes its good to just sit down and get lost in a show.

These are some approved binge-worthy shows on Netflix:

  • The Vampire Diaries and all its spin-offs: The Vampire diaries is a classic; a story about a young girl Elena whose life intertwines with two vampire brothers. This show is a supernatural romance, and it doesn’t end just there. When your done, you can submerse yourself in the same world with The Originals, and then Legacies.
  • The 100: A century after earth was devastated by a nuclear apocalypse, 100 space station residents are sent to the planet to determine whether it’s habitable. This series is six seasons long, and provides plenty of mind-bending action.
  • The Umbrella Academy: Taking a turn from the previously mentioned shows, The Umbrella Academy is more lighthearted, but still maintains a captivating story line and magic. The story follows a dysfunctional family of adopted sibling superheros who reunite to solve the mystery of their father’s death and the threat of the impending apocalypse.
  • Anne with an E: This show follows the adventures of a young orphan girl living in the late 19th century. With only three seasons, Anne with an E will capture your heart, and make you bawl tears of joy.

If TV-shows aren’t for you, here are a couple of worthy movies:

  • Dumplin’: To prove a point about measuring up and fitting in, Texas teen Willowdean Dickson enters a local pageant run by her ex-beauty queen mom. (Authors note: This movie will make you cry buckets.. at least for me it did)
  • To all the boys I’ve loved before: When her secret love letters somehow get mailed to each of her five crushes, Laura Jean finds her quiet high school existence turned upside down.
  • Murder Mystery: On a long-awaited trip to Europe, a New York City cop and his hairdresser wife scramble to solve a baffling murder aboard a millionaire’s yacht.
  • Brain on Fire: Stricken with seizures, psychosis and memory loss, a young New York Post reporter visits doctor after doctor in search of an elusive diagnosis.
